Britannica International School, Shanghai, is the only school in the city to be British owned, with fully-trained teachers from the British Isles, delivering the English National Curriculum to children from age 2 to 18 years, starting at the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) all the way through to IGCSE and A Level qualifications.

Its British heritage means that children leave with the highest level of achievement. Britannica International School, Shanghai is located in Gubei, close to the downtown area, with nearby open spaces, and is easily accessible with short journey times and bus routes for students. The highest quality, fully-trained teachers from the UK are selected for their experience and excellence, and the close nurturing environment school means that all students have the care and support that they need to be effective and happy learners.

Learners of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow

Britannica International School, Shanghai recognise that our young global learners will be tomorrow’s global leaders. The curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, enhanced to meet the needs of the expatriate population that attends the school. Britannica Shanghai have an exceptional World Language and Co-Curriculum programme which not only makes this school stand out in Shanghai but in our global family of schools too.

When I look back at my three years at Britannica, it appears to me that this is the place where fascinating things in life are uncovered. Offering a vibrant, supportive and creative environment for academic and artistic prosperity, talents are not the only things valuable here nor are achievements. Discovering passion, building friendships, learning from individuals around you are what the teachers wish to see the most, and which I have experienced personally as a student. There is, frankly, no reason to not to love this place.
