From the first time the Wakelet team came to introduce their curation platform at our annual May conference in 2019 to today, we have gradually adopted this fantastic tool, a Manchester start-up, to collaborate, share information, and populate our VLE courses with content.

Wakelet is an amazing free curation tool and platform (not just) for educators, allowing our teachers worldwide to work on projects, share with parents, students and staff, all this in a fast, seamless manner. The platform itself is appealing to the eye, fully customizable, easy to use, and can be embedded in VLEs and websites.

It is constantly evolving and has also become a Microsoft for Education partner. This means that Immersive Reader is available in all Wakelet collections and translates content in multiple languages, which makes information and content accessible to our international community members.

Recently, Wakelet has been adopted by the Principal and the Head of Secondary as the main tool to issue their weekly newsletters at Britannica International School, Budapest. These are embedded in the school’s website and allow a smooth flow of information in a design setting. Quick and easy to use, it saves time and can be edited at will, the content synchronizing with the website. Whether it’s pictures, videos, presentations in pdf, documents, or content from Google Drive or OneDrive.

As we embrace Wakelet group-wide, we are looking at the many opportunities it has to offer in terms of marketing, information and collaboration. Wakelet has n in-built Flipgrid camera, which allows for video collaboration between students, staff and parents. It also makes pulling everything in one place and sharing with one click easy and quick. Wakelet also offers free tutorials and training for teachers, which allows all our teachers to quickly learn the basics.

Orbital Education was also the first company to be featured in a video on education filmed in May 2019 at our Headquarters in Cheadle and in the World Teachers Day blog article.
