Welcome from the Chairman and Founder
Although Orbital is a relatively new company, the expertise behind it is of long standing. I have personally founded international schools in more than a dozen countries.
Since Orbital was founded in 2005, the group has grown fast and in keeping with the plan I formulated. I envisaged a group of international schools and colleges offering quality education, mainly in British style and tradition, to expatriate and host families in countries throughout the world. Some of our schools were acquired from former owners and educationalists; some we founded ourselves. To date, we operate in Russia, Spain, Hungary and South Korea.
The schools benefit from the central services and supervision that an experienced team of educationalists and managers provides. My team here at our head office near Manchester are united in the belief we share with our school heads: quality and accountability are paramount and lead to success for our students, security for their families and material progress for the company.

Launch of a new British International School for Shanghai
www.britannicashanghai.com
Orbital Education the Cheshire based international schools company announces the opening of its new school in the city of Shanghai, China. It will be known as the Britannica International School Shanghai. The school which will be housed in a completely refurbished and extended education building is situated in the centre of Gubei, the district of Shanghai most favoured by expatriate families. It is understood the construction is being funded from Orbital’s own resources. There is no financial partner.
The school will follow a British tuition model based on the English National Curriculum but with extensions and enhancement, making it ideal for the children from the diverse range of nationalities expected to enrol there
The Chairman of Orbital Kevin McNeany, the founder of Nord Anglia Education and Acorn Care and Education (both of which he sold to private equity buyers), is no stranger to international education in Shanghai. While Chairman and CEO of Nord Anglia he founded the British International Schools in Pudong and Puxi, two of the major growth districts of Shanghai.
‘I am particularly pleased to be active again in Shanghai,’ he said, ‘and to have the honour of being awarded my third international school licence. It is the first such licence to be issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education in Shanghai for six years and I view the award as a confirmation of the good standing internationally of the Orbital group and a testament to the quality of our schools.’
The new school which has a capacity for 750 students has a full set of specialist classrooms, a theatre, swimming pool and full size gymnasium. The Founding Principal is Alun Thomas a highly qualified and experienced head of British schools. He was head of the British International School in Ho Chi Minh City and recently the founding head of another Vietnamese school, Renaissance School, Ho Chi Minh City.
Orbital Education is dedicated to the development of British style international schools. It has schools in Russia, South Korea, Spain, Hungary and China.

Russia
Orbital Education's English International School (EIS) is expanding. A new campus opened in September 2012 in the West of Moscow at Molodogvardeyskaya, near Kutuzovskiy Prospect.
Enrolments are now being assessed for children 3 to 11 years.
Moscow West will replicate the quality, care and energy which has guided the success of the English International School Moscow East school at Novogireevo.
At last! A British owned, British managed and British staffed school for the expatriate and Russian families in the west of the city.
‘EIS's new campus is much closer to the greatest concentration of the international community. It will act as a primary feeder to the secondary courses now well established at Orbital’s first Moscow school.
‘I am pleased that we have opened a new campus in the West of Moscow. The city is so big that one school location is not able to cater for such a widely dispersed constituency of international families.’ Said Chairman, Kevin McNeany.
